Staff and students at a Chorleywood school were delighted to be able to host an evening of music and songs with the North London Military Wives Choir last month.
The Military Wives Choirs have a vital role to play by bringing women in the military community together to sing, share and support one another. There are over 2,000 women with a military connection in 74 choirs based across the UK
Students at Charlotte House even had the opportunity to join in with the North London Military Wives Choir at the end of the evening when forms V and VI performed Carry Me with their visitors as a finale to the evening.
The concert boasted a wealth of talent with solos, group numbers and the choirs all performing some familiar tunes.
The girls’ performance with the choir was historic as it was the first time one of the Military Wives’ original songs could be prepared as an ensemble piece with another choir.
A school spokesman said the evening was very memorable.
She commented: “After a quick run through just prior to the concert, they performed it beautifully with the ladies in the North London Military Wives Choir as a finale.
“The evening ended with a standing ovation as the audience were so appreciative of the spectacular entertainment that they are sure to remember for a long time.”
A Night with the Military Wives Choir was held on May 10.
