Dacorum Borough Council (DBC) is inviting applications for Green Community Grants as part of its efforts to address the climate and ecological emergency.
The grants support community projects in line with the Dacorum Climate Action Network (DCAN), aiming to encourage groups to “think global and act local” whilst tackling environmental challenges.
Applications open from Monday, November 25, and grants of £3,000, £5,000 and £10,000 are available. Applicants must demonstrate how their project will address the climate and ecological emergency locally and focus on at least one environmental theme.
Energy in buildings, sustainable transport, biodiversity, and nature recovery are all key pillars of the grant fund.
DCAN was launched in 2021 to educate Dacorum residents on climate change, after DBC declared a climate emergency in 2019.
To apply for the grant, email climate.action@dacorum.gov.uk with supporting documentation.
