Northwood were in Middlesex Senior Cup action last night and picked up a morale-boosting win against Enfield Town.
After 22 minutes, the Woods went in front from the penalty spot when Louis Bircham slotted home after Harry Lodovica burst through and was sandwiched in the area.
After the break, the home side grew into the game but were unable to take advantage of their dominance but a mixture of the woodwork, bad finishing and good goalkeeping saw Northwood hang on for a valuable victory.
The game also saw a clean sheet for debut keeper Alfie Bonfield.
After the game, fans took to social media to express their delight at the win.
Robin Piper tweeted: “Well done boys. Rolled up your sleeves for a great battling performance. Special mention to debutant keeper @AlfieJFBonfield”
The Woods return to league action on Saturday when they travel to South Park.
