The Mayor has heaped praise on the “wonderful contribution” that cultural events in Hemel Hempstead have provided to the town.
Mayor of Dacorum councillor William Allen has recently attended several events across the town.
He started his tour by attending Hemel Hempstead Theatre Company’s (HHTC) performance of Our House at The Boxmoor Playhouse.
Our House was HHT’s modern interpretation of the West End show and told the story of London lad Joe Casey who, on the night of his 16th birthday, takes the girl of his dreams out on their first date.
The Mayor then went to The Shakespeare Circus, which is an open air touring company, to watch their performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
He finished his tour of cultural events by attending Hemel Hempstead School’s art exhibition and Dacorum Music School’s Music on the Lawn concert.
Mayor Allen told HEMELnews: “Since my appointment as Mayor of Dacorum, I have enjoyed meeting a diverse range of local people and organisations who are showcasing high-quality arts and cultural events across the borough.
“It has been fantastic to find out more about what they do and help to promote the wonderful contribution they make to the local community.”
