A new police survey has revealed that the crimes Amersham residents are most concerned about are burglary, drugs, and violent and sexual offences.
The survey was conducted by Chiltern & South Bucks Policing Issues Forum and received nearly 600 responses from residents. It was held between March 18 and April 2, and Amersham was one of the areas with the highest numbers of responses.
In Amersham, burglary was the biggest concern (84 per cent), followed by drugs (36 per cent) and violence and sexual offences (29 per cent).
The survey looked at data from police.uk to analyse whether residents’ concerns matched up with recorded crimes.
The consultation provided data on burglaries, drugs, speeding and speed watch schemes, and anti-social behaviour, with a look to future trends and patterns and how to deal with rising crime.
The data is available at www.csb-forum.org/meetings/chiltern-s-bucks-policing-issues-forum-5th-april-2023
