Stanmore Cricket Club are set to start their 2019 campaign at a higher level having won the league title last year.

The club, based at Stanmore Hill, claimed the Middlesex County Cricket League Division Two title in 2018 and will now ply their trade in the Premier Division.

Last season saw them finish four points clear of Harrow St Mary Cricket Club and that rivalry will continue this season as both sides were promoted.

Stanmore’s opening league game is on May 11 away at Shepherds Bush with the first home game scheduled to be the following week on May 18 against Teddington.

The Premier Division has 10 teams with one team being promoted as champions and two teams being relegated back to Division Two.

The teams in the league are Ealing, Finchley, Hampstead, Harrow St Marys, North Middlesex, Richmond, Shepherds Bush, Teddington, Twickenham and Stanmore.

Ahead of the new league campaign Stanmore warmed up with a comfortable seven wicket victory at home to Uxbridge CC in the ECB National Cup.
