A Romanian man today (June 7) pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting a woman.
Alexandru Gavriloiu, who was aided by a Romanian interpreter, denied the charge when it was put to him at St Albans Crown Court.
The offence is alleged to have taken place on December 5, 2021.
Judge Michael Roques granted him bail. A trial date has now been set for January 29, 2024. There will be a pre-trial review on January 11 next year.
The prosecution has until July 5 to respond to a defence statement.
