A recently installed water station had to be decontaminated by the parish council after someone used it to clean muddy shoes.
The fountain was installed at the Manor House playing fields and has been hugely popular with residents.
However, over the weekend of December 1, someone had used the fountain to clean muddy shoes or boots. The council had to decontaminate the water to ensure it was useable for residents to drink from.
The council later tweeted about the incident on December 6.
They said: “The Parish Council installed a drinking fountain/water bottle refill station on the Manor House playing fields. It has been hugely popular. At the weekend someone used it to clean muddy shoes/boots. The unit has been cleaned and decontaminated. Really! It is a water station!”
