People across the generations in Stanmore were united by cake for the 6th year on The Great Jewish Bake Day last month.
Brownies baked and decorated cupcakes whilst cooks, chefs and bakers jumped on board to help get the community together over cake.
In the run up to Bake Day, Denise Phillips ran a marathon Bake Day session for children from Hertsmere Jewish Primary School who visited residents at Jewish Care’s Princess Alexandra Home in Stanmore.
Daniel Carmel-Brown, Jewish Care Chief Executive, commenting afterwards said, “It’s been another fantastic Great Jewish Bake Day. People of all ages from across the community have been having a great time getting together to enjoy cake whilst raising money to help fund Jewish Care buses. The buses are a real lifeline to hundreds of older people, many of whom would otherwise be isolated.
“They take them to our community centres and centres for people living with dementia where they can enjoy a range of activities and the opportunity to spend time with others from across the community. A huge thank you to everyone who took part.”
