Chalfont St Peter Cricket Club has announced they will be welcoming refugees to join the club, offering free membership to any refugee fleeing conflict.
Refugees aged five and above are welcome to apply and are encouraged to join the team on and off the pitch at no cost for the foreseeable future.
The cricket club have opened their doors to not only Ukrainian nationals, but any refugee living around the area. The club announced that the new members will be integrated into teams of the same level to create a fair experience on the pitch.
Club spokesperson Euan Spence told ChalfontandStGilesNews: “We want to open our arms to anyone and hopefully make a difference as we try to do our bit for the community.”
He added that in a mission to combat a lack of girls and women involved in Cricket, the club will also be hosting female only games each Saturday from May.
