Dacorum Borough Council (DBC) has launched a new Community Grant Training Bursary Scheme to develop unpaid coaches and volunteers within sports, arts, heritage, cultural, and community groups.
This initiative provides bursaries ranging from £100 to £500, and can be applied for alongside a Community Grant, with a 30 per cent match funding contribution required.
The grant will provide training and qualifications, aiming to enhance the skills, knowledge and capacity of coaches and volunteers.
The scheme is encouraging applications from young coaches and volunteers aged between 14 and 21, clubs and organisations delivering accessible projects for people with SEND or additional needs or with an inclusive focus, and clubs for culturally diverse and lower socio-economic communities.
The grant is also aimed at clubs and organisations supporting female participation in leadership and volunteer roles.
Councillor Adrian England, Leader of DBC, said: “We are proud to launch this new bursary program to support the invaluable work of our local unpaid coaches and volunteers by investing in their training and development.”
