With the next season approaching, Radlett Cricket Club’s first team will be looking to build on last year’s campaign, which ended with a win in the league play-off final.
The team will host the first round of the T20 on April 29, with the league starting the following week.
Captain Jenkins said: “We set some pretty lofty goals last year. We had a very strong team and we were a whisker away from winning the league and probably just 10 minutes here or there in games cost us.
“The goals will be similar this year; we’re in it to try and win competitions.”
Kiwi overseas star Nathan Smith had a major impact last season despite carrying an injury. However, he will not be returning this year, and Aussie Hayden Goulstone, an off-spinning all-rounder, will step in.
Jenkins said: “You don’t replace the quality of Nathan very easily because he’s a very good first-class cricketer, but Hayden coming in seems to have all the credentials that we were looking for, not just as a player but as a bloke. He seems everything we want at the club.”
