A mobile phone was allegedly stolen from a table in Burger King on Watford High Street between 2pm and 2.25pm on Thursday, February 23.
Officers have now released a CCTV image of a man they would like to identify following the theft.
PC Ben James, who is investigating, said: “We’ve been conducting several lines of enquiry since the incident was reported.
“We are now seeking the public’s help to identify the man in the photo as it is believed he was in the area at the time of the incident and may have information that could help us with our investigation. If you recognise him, please contact me at Benjamin.James@herts.police.uk”
