Temporary traffic lights in Abbots Langley have caused chaos whilst cabling works are being completed.
The lights, which are on Bedmond Road, are part of works to install cabling under the M25 and have been ongoing since Thursday, October 10, 2024, according to Causeway. Temporary traffic lights have been placed on the road running either side of the M25 since Tuesday, November 12, 2024.
The traffic lights are expected to be in place until Friday, January 10, 2025.
According to a post on Facebook by Leader of Three Rivers District Council Stephen Giles-Medhurst, the main issue with the traffic lights is that “the single flow middle section fills up, but not all the traffic can then get through the lights”, creating a blockage from the other direction.
Cllr Giles-Medhurst also claimed that one set of traffic lights were installed without a permit.
Leep Electricity Networks Ltd, who are overseeing the works, and Hertfordshire County Council have been contacted for comment.
