Police are conducting an investigation after 84 bags containing herbal cannabis were found on Rickmansworth Road in Chorleywood on Wednesday, February 4.

The cannabis, which was contained in silver bags and is estimated to have a combined street value of £4,000, was found at around 2.30am by a motorist, who alerted police. Detectives are investigating how the bags came to be in the road and where they came from. Detective Sergeant Andy Wiseman from the Local Crime Unit said: “This is a very unusual discovery and we are conducting enquiries to determine how they got there. We believe they may have literally fallen off the back of a vehicle which was travelling along the road. “I would like to speak to anyone who may have seen these bags fall off a vehicle or knows how they got there. I’d also be keen to hear from anyone with information about where they may have come from, where they were travelling to or the owner of these items. You can provide information anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers if you would prefer.” To give information anonymously to Crimestoppers call 0800 555 111. Anyone with information is asked to contact Herts Police via the non-emergency number, 101.
