Bushey In World War 1 exhibition opens

An exhibition in honour of the people of Bushey during World War One has opened today (Monday) to mark the centenary of declaration, “a pivotal part of British history.” The Bushey Academy hosted the Bushey During the Great War, A Village Remembers exhibition which displays biographies of people during the war, memorabilia and artwork from local schools. Hugh Lewis, the vice chairman of the Bushey Museum commented:  “This exhibition is a result of many hours of investigation and the results show the outstanding sacrifices which Bushey made throughout the war.” The Bushey Museum put thousands of hours work into the exhibition which received funding from the National Lottery Fund. The event was opened by the Lord-Luietenant for Hertfordshire, The Countess of Verulam who commented on the lovely choir performance.
