Override, the brand behind North Finchley’s high-energy indoor cycle classes Override Spin and Fitness, is expanding its wellness offering with the launch of Override Reformer, a boutique Reformer Pilates studio opening in Borehamwood this month.
Each class will provide a precision-coached experience, blending traditional Reformer Pilates with contemporary elements like weighted rings and jump boards, creating fun, challenging, and results-driven sessions.
Founder Natalie Gubbay-Jackson was inspired to open a Reformer Pilates studio in the heart of Borehamwood to create an inclusive, welcoming space for individuals at every stage of their Pilates journey. The Override brand was born from the idea of taking back control of body, mindset, and everyday life.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Natalie saw an opportunity to turn her passion for fitness into something more, having recently qualified as a spin instructor while working in event management. She launched the first Override indoor cycling studio in Whetstone with just 12 bikes, responding to a growing need for movement and mental wellbeing during a time of isolation.
Despite the challenges of lockdown, Natalie maintained a strong sense of community by holding car park classes, renting out bikes, and offering online sessions. Just over three years ago, Override Spin and Fitness moved to a larger location, and is now home to 18 bikes and a community of over 2,500 members.
The brand has had a lasting impact on members, far beyond physical fitness. Natalie is now expanding this mission with the launch of Override Reformer in Borehamwood, with further growth planned through the opening of Override Elstree, a second indoor cycling studio, in 2026.
Natalie commented on the Override Reformer opening, saying: “Our message at Override of building strength and confidence has gone so much further than I ever imagined. Members often tell me our classes have transformed their lives, improving their mental health, confidence and physical capability.
“Override Reformer is about more than movement and flexibility. It’s about reclaiming control, reconnecting with your body, and growing into your most confident self. I’m so excited to bring this to Borehamwood. Whether you’re stepping onto the Reformer for the first time or refining your practice, we’re here to guide, challenge, and support you every step of the way.”
