Every day, unpaid carers give their love, time and energy selflessly and often without recognition.
On Wednesday, November 12, Croxley councillor Narinder Sian joined community and faith leaders as a panellist at the Unpaid Carers Conference at Beechen Grove Baptist Church in Watford.
The inspiring event was organised by community charity One Vision, which provides practical support to vulnerable individuals and families.
The conference brought together carers, health professionals, and community leaders to explore how faith, culture and community shape our understanding of compassion and care.
Speaking to CROXLEYnews, cllr Sian said: “Our carers give so much of themselves every single day. We must listen, learn and build a system that truly respects and supports them.”
Attendees spoke openly about the challenges of caring for loved ones with long-term conditions, highlighting gaps in respite, information, and early-support services.
Cllr Sian added: “The discussions reinforced the importance of prevention beginning in communities, not just in clinical settings. One Vision remains committed to bridging faith and health, ensuring every unpaid carer feels valued and supported.”
