Hertfordshire Police were called at around 11.38am this morning (Friday, October 17) to reports of a suspected unexploded First World War bomb being found in the garden of the Old Fox Pub between Watford and Bricket Wood.
Officers arrived at the scene and evacuated the pub and surrounding houses and a 100 metre cordon was put in place for a short time as a precaution.
Specialists from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team arrived and commenced a controlled explosion in a field nearby to dispose of it this afternoon at around 2pm.
