Police have arrested two men on suspicion of engaging with sexual communication with a child following reports they were attempting to meet two people they believed to be children.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said: “We received a report just after 3.10pm on Saturday, November 8, that two men were attempting to meet two people they believed to be children in Southsea, after inappropriately communicating with them online.
“A 27-year-old man from Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire has been arrested on suspicion of engaging in sexual communication with a child and driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
“A 37-year-old man from Harrow has been arrested on suspicion of engaging in sexual communication with a child.
“They have both been conditionally bailed until February 8 whilst enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances.”
