BRAVE THE SHAVE: Watford resident shaves his head to raise funds for cancer charity

Published on: 3rd September 2023   |   By: Darius Morgan   |   Category: Uncategorized

A Watford resident has “braved the shave” for the third time in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Statistics show that one in three people will know somebody who will be treated for cancer, but local resident Paul Davies has been more unfortunate than most.

Paul’s grandfather, grandmother, father and nephew all lost their lives to the disease.

To support Macmillan’s mission to help those living with cancer, Paul shaved his head on August 5.

The shave took place at The Cother Arms pub on St Albans Road, and raised more than £600. Many business up and down the street contributed to the fundraiser.

Paul told WATFORDnews: “My neighbour was diagnosed a couple of years ago. I would constantly see Macmillan taking him out for walks, taking care of him, being a fantastic support.

“The support and generosity shown to me and Macmillan Cancer Support by Tanya and Gary [owners of The Cother Arms] and their staff and customers at The Cother Arms Pub can not be put into words! Humbled, honoured, grateful are understatements of how I feel.”
