BOTTLE ATTACK: Witnesses sought following assault in St Albans

Detectives are appealing for witnesses as part of their investigation into an assault in St Albans.

The incident occurred at the White Swan public house, on Upper Dagnall Street, at around 12.20am on Sunday, May 29.

It was reported that a verbal altercation occurred between two males who were not known to each other, before turning physical. One of the males was then allegedly struck with a bottle, sustaining a wound to his head, as well as cuts to the hand and leg.

A 23-year-old man from St Albans was arrested on suspicion of assault (ABH) and has been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Detective Constable Nick Kent, from the Case Investigation Team, said: “Our enquiries into the incident are continuing at this time and an arrest has been made.

“As part of the ongoing investigation, we’re keen to get accounts from witnesses to establish the circumstances around what happened. If you saw the incident, or have any other information which may assist us, please get in touch.”
