BLOWING BUBBLES: Garston-born reporter becomes football correspondent for national TV

Published on: 5th October 2022   |   By: Darius Morgan   |   Category: Uncategorized

A lifelong football fan born and raised in Garston has become her football club’s correspondent for national broadcast companies.

Holly Worthington, Everett Ladies player and West Ham supporter, has long been a reporter for fan magazine, Blowing Bubbles, and presenter for YouTube channel, West Ham Network.

She said: “A few years ago, West Ham did a competition for new presenters. I got to the final of that, and from then on I always knew it was something that I absolutely love doing.”

After the BBC discovered her coverage of West Ham’s Conference League games (the third tier of European football) last year, they invited her on screen.

Impressed with her sterling work, the BBC have now made Holly their official West Ham football correspondent. Any time they need a West Ham broadcast, it will be Holly reporting from the London stadium or via Zoom call.

Companies Sky Sports and LiveScore have also enlisted Holly as their go-to West Ham expert.

Holly spoke to MyLocalNews about the joys of in-person presenting: “I could happily chat about football continuously! It’s great fun!

“You get to meet so many people. I spoke with a Brighton fan on the BBC recently. It’s great to interact with all sorts of different people and fanbases. You can’t beat it!”
