Two people were arrested after police responded to reports that attempts were allegedly being made to steal motorbikes on St Albans Road in Hemel Hempstead on Sunday, June 29.
Officers attended the Able Road area shortly after 1.30pm and quickly detained a male for a search.
Following a search of several nearby gardens, a second male was detained a short time later and both males were arrested.
A knife and class B drugs were located during the incident, as well as a pair of bolt cutters.
Thabile Tootoo, 18, of Pluto Rise, Hemel Hempstead, has been charged with possession of a bladed article in a public place, possession of a class B drug (cannabis), and interference with a motor vehicle.
A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with interference with a motor vehicle.
Both have been released on bail, to appear before magistrates’ court on Friday, July 18.
The police shared: “We take reports of suspicious behaviour and motor vehicle theft seriously, so if you see something suspicious, or you think a crime is in progress please call us immediately on 999.”
