A longtime resident of Manor Way, who has asked to remain anonymous, is speaking out about a growing amount of dog mess being left on their road.
Speaking to CROXLEYnews, they said: “I’ve lived here for 24 years, and I’ve never had to walk in the gutter before, but in the last few weeks, the matter of dog poo is horrendous.
“It’s so bad that if it’s dark, I won’t walk on the pavement but in the road.”
Manor Way is a busy street near Little Green Junior School, and children are often seen walking and scooting along the pavements.
They added: “These small children and their siblings are walking and scooting through this. I’ve even had to stop grandparents with their grandchildren to warn them not to let the children run ahead.”
Describing one evening during rush hour, they said: “It had just turned dark, and I had to walk into the road. I had to keep checking for cars, but that is dangerous. I had to jump on the pavement because cars were coming down so fast.”
The resident says the problem has left them worried for all ages: “It breaks my heart. Children should not risk stepping in dog mess and carrying it into school. Even elderly people who walk here every day are at risk.
“It is an offence, and it is a health and safety concern.”
