BEST-SELLERS: Chorleywood Bookshop celebrates being regional finalist in national awards

Published on: 15th March 2022   |   By: Bryn Holmes   |   Category: Uncategorized

The much-loved Chorleywood Bookshop has been declared a regional finalist in this year’s Independent Bookshop of the Year Awards 2022.

One of twelve stores selected for the prize of best bookshop in the South East of England, the shop has seen a few changes over the last few years, especially with 2021’s move across the village into new premises but has remained a cornerstone of Chorleywood life throughout.

Even with the difficulties of running a business throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the store has remained committed to its place in the community, with numerous events organised with famous authors, support for several local schools and book groups, and their new shop, which is now fully accessible.

Co-owner of the bookshop, Sheryl Shurville, said: “It’s a real honour to be named as a Regional Finalist in this year’s Independent Bookshop of the Year Award. We are both excited and proud to be in the finals.

Our mission is to be the best at everything we do, using our passion and skill to inspire the readers of today and tomorrow, connecting authors and their potential audience, whoever they are, within both the immediate community and beyond.

With our valued staff, our positivity, determination and abilities to embrace change, we look forward to building on our successes, continuing to inspire readers in our community and beyond for years to come!”

The award’s final result will be announced on May 23 later on this year.
