A paedophile in his late 50s who travelled to Hemel Hempstead with Viagra expecting to meet a 14-year-old girl for sex was today (Monday) jailed for 11 years.
When Erkin Elibol, now 59, arrived at a McDonald’s car park he was confronted by vigilantes called Innocent Voices.
The paedophile hunters – who had posed as a fictitious girl named Megan – called the police who searched his car and found Viagra.
St Albans crown court heard that Elibol, of Pickering House, Woodberry Down, Manor House, London, N4, had also been talking to another “decoy girl” called Polly, who was said to be aged 13. He had gone to the same park to meet her a week earlier, but left.
He had used the names “Horny Grandpa” and “Dirty Old D… for Fem” during the on-line conversations in which he had sent over images of his own penis.
Following his arrest on 25th June last year, the police discovered folders on his mobile phone showing he had been in on-line communication with a real 12-year-old girl. He had persuaded her to indulge in sexual poses and acts. On one occasion he asked her to “moan more” for the camera. The 12-year-old girl is now receiving counselling.
He appeared for sentence having been convicted of attempting to cause a child to watch a sexual act, attempted sexual communication with a child, attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming, sexual communication with a child, three charges of causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, making indecent images of children. All the offences were committed between February and June last year.
Defending, Matthew Radstone said Elibol had no relevant previous convictions. He said he had brought up two sons alone since 2003 when his wife died. The judge was handed character references.
Recorder Allison Hunter KC described his conduct towards the real victim as “abhorrent”.
She told him: “I accept you are deeply ashamed as you rightly should be of the way you behaved.”
Elibol must register as a sex offender and abide by the terms of a sexual harm prevention order for life.
