While the annual Abbots Autumn Fest has had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, organisers are encouraging residents to enjoy the season in a different way.
Residents can make scarecrows in their front gardens or on their doorsteps, which will then feature on the Autumn Fest’s Facebook page and new website for all to see.
An Autumn Fest spokesperson said: “Last year, many scarecrows appeared around the village and were really enjoyed by those who spotted them. Let’s make scarecrows for display in our front gardens, on our doorsteps, or indeed at a window. Take a photo and post on our Facebook page.”
The spokesperson also said the organisers fully intend hold the festival next year as usual. The date will be Saturday, September 18 2021, from 11am to 4pm at School Mead.
