Police are appealing to the public for witnesses and information following an assault in St Albans.
The incident occurred at around 12.20pm on Monday, December 4, in Greenwood Park, near to Tippendell Lane.
It is reported that when the victim has gone to the park to meet a friend he was attacked and pushed to the floor by a man wearing a balaclava who used a bladed weapon to assault him.
The victim suffered grievous bodily harm-level injuries including a serious cut to his left hand as well as smaller cuts, bruises and swelling.
Detective Constable Ben Hardwick, who is investigating, said: “I am appealing for any information or people who may have witnessed the incident that happened in Greenwood Park.
“The park is surrounded by a housing estate, so if you live near to the park and have any doorbell footage that may help our enquiries, please get in touch.”
