ART CULTURE: Hertfordshire Year of Culture 2020 teams up with Hemel Hempstead library

Published on: 10th March 2020   |   By: News Desk   |   Category: Uncategorized

Hemel Hempstead Library has partnered with Hertfordshire Year of Culture 2020 (HYOC2020) to help showcase creative and cultural opportunities across the borough.

HYO2020 has teamed up with local businesses, such as the library, to help enable access and participate in arts, culture and heritage activities throughout the year.

Locals can celebrate, share and explore Dacorum’s arts, culture and activities.

The event is supported by all 11 of Hertfordshire’s local authorities.

Some of the activities include a county wide dance project, inclusive family music shows from Electric Umbrella, a girls’ cricket festival and a cultural conference for schools, a wellbeing event and a Fun Palace later in the year.

Councillor Julie Banks, portfolio holder for community and regulatory services, said: “There are a whole host of activities, special events and experiences taking place across the HYO2020 themed months, each looking to celebrate all things creative.

“We look forward to more people joining the campaign and getting involved in arts and culture as the year progresses and continuing beyond 2020.”
