An Abbots Langley resident has shared her frustrations over a local bus route following an article in the January issue of ABBOTSnews.
The 328 route, which shuttles residents from Abbots Langley to Mount Vernon Hospital, was changed at the end of November. Instead of travelling all the way down Hazelwood Lane as it used to, the 328 now turns right into Broomfield Rise, therefore cutting off the original terminal at South Way.
It now travels via Divine Saviour Primary School which, resident Margery Cotton says, causes chaos at pick-up and drop-off times.
She said: “Hazelwood Lane is a big main road, but Broomfield Rise goes through an estate which isn’t designed to have buses going through it, especially during busy school times.”
Margery added that she has also struggled to find a timetable for the new bus route.
She said: “I rang Arriva and had to find the number as now they don’t even include the number in the new timetable booklet.”
Margery also stated that the bus is frequently late. On one occasion, she left Vine House Health Centre to get the 328 home, but the bus was so late that the surgery staff eventually ordered her a taxi.
Arriva has been contacted for comment.
