Two men have been arrested after armed police arrived at a Hemel Hempstead address following reports of a violent altercation this evening (Wednesday, July 31).
The disturbance, which took place near The Heights section of the town, was first reported at around 5.50pm, with officers being told by witnesses that a fight had taken place between a group of males where a weapon had been seen.
The individuals involved had left shortly afterwards.
Upon arriving at the scene, several police units (including armed resources) enquired at a nearby address.
Following this, two men were arrested.
Posting on social media, Herts Police said: “No one was hurt and it is being treated as an isolated incident involving parties who are known to each other.
“Enquiries are continuing.”
In footage seen by Hemel News of the police response, a man can be seen being arrested at gunpoint by armed officers, being told to raise his arms and go against the wall before being taken in.
An X account has also alleged that the weapon spotted in the initial altercation was a machete, but this has yet to be confirmed by police.
