Three men were arrested in Apsley recently on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and going equipped to steal.
Two of the men, a 32-year-old and 27-year-old, both from Hemel Hempstead, were arrested on Thursday, November 14 at around 6.15pm after the van they was in was activated on an ANPR camera on the A41.
The vehicle was suspected to be using false plates and officers located it in the Shell petrol station, London Road.
A heavy police presence was at the scene and was picked up by a number of local residents on social media.
A third man from Canterbury was also arrested.
All have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
