Appeal for witnesses after attempted murder in Stanmore

Detectives in Harrow investigating an attempted murder in Stanmore are appealing for witnesses. Police were called at approximately 10.15pm on Friday, June 5 to reports of a man stabbed at The Broadway. The London Ambulance Service attended and treated a 21-year-old man at the scene for stab wounds to his chest before taking him to hospital with his injuries which were thought to be life threatening. He remains in hospital but his condition has now stabilised. Earlier on that evening, the victim had been in a nearby pub with friends when two men started to argue with him. The man left the pub with his friends and a short while later, crossed the road towards Sainsbury’s where one of the same two men attacked him with a knife. Both suspects ran away afterwards towards Marsh Lane. Suspect 1 is described as Asian, male, 16 years old, wearing a black Puffa jacket with baseball cap. Suspect 2 is described as white, male, 17 years old. Investigating officers are seeking the whereabouts of the suspects whose identity is known to them and who may have links to the Harrow, Brent, Barnet and Watford areas. Detective Sergeant Matt Smith said: “The victim had an altercation inside The Moon Public House in Stanmore with two men around 10.00pm. Shortly after leaving the pub, he was attacked with a knife by one of the men outside and stabbed in the chest. Police are appealing for the whereabouts, or identities of the two men he had an altercation with.” Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Sergeant Matt Smith or Detective Constable Mark Mildenstein from Harrow CID on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
