Police are appealing for witnesses about items they are searching for after two teenagers were left with stab wounds last night (January 5) in Bushey. The victims, who are 18 and 19 years old, were attacked at around 6.40pm as they walked along Bushey Grove Road at the junction with Vernon Road. They both suffered stab wounds but were able to run from the scene to get help. Officers attended the area and short time later a 19-year-old man from St Albans was arrested on suspicion of GBH. The victims were taken to Watford General Hospital where their injuries were deemed not to be life threatening and have since been discharged. Detective inspector Matt Phillips from the Local Crime Unit said: “This was a serious incident and I am sure the wider community may be concerned about what happened. However, I would like to reassure people that at this time we believe this to be a targeted incident.” The knife is described as black handled with a four to five inch silver blade. The top is described as a dark coloured hoody. Anyone who has any information which would assist the investigation is asked to contact the Herts Police non-emergency number 101 quoting Operation name CENTURIAL. Alternatively, you can contact the independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through their Anonymous Online Form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded and you will never need to go to court.
