Residents are encouraged to sign up for the annual Berkhamsted Walk fundraising event, which will return this May.
The walk has been a regular event in the town since 1968, with the funds raised going to The Children’s Society to help them continue their mission of supporting vulnerable young people.
On Sunday, May 12, participants can start their trek anytime between 9.30am and 2pm from Kitcheners Field on Castle Hill, located next to Berkhamsted Cricket Club.
There are three walking routes to choose from: the six-mile Bluebell Walk for all ages, the 12-mile Bluebell Walk for those wanting a longer route through areas of natural beauty, and the 18-mile Challenge Walk for the hardiest of trekkers.
Throughout the signposted journey, there will be checkpoints offering water and squash. The first of these will be run by the Horsebox Café, operated by the Blue Tangerine Charity, which supports young people with learning difficulties
At the end of the walk, warm tea and scones will be waiting to congratulate the walkers.
