AMAZING AMOUNT: Schoolkids raise over £10k for various charities

The pupils at St Clement Danes have been spending their time raising an extraordinary amount of money for charities across Hertfordshire- with a combined total money earned reaching over £14,000!

As part of their annual Charity Week, which has been held for the first time in two years due to previous issues with the pandemic, sixth formers at the school have been working hard to set up events designed to raise money for three separate charities: CW Wildlife Rescue, Mission EmployAble and Herts MIND Network.

The Charity Prefect team organised a week where every year came in with non-school uniform and played fun challenges set up by the sixth formers, such as a footballing task and a TikTok dancing game, with stalls selling food and drink. Students paid £5 to participate.

Staff also got involved with a Masked Singer-style singing contest, a ‘Red Light, Green Light’ challenge inspired by TV show Squid Game and a classic game of ‘Sponge the Teacher’. Thanks to these efforts, an incredible £9009.35 was raised by this event, a tremendous achievement.

This has also been combined with an event the school did last December, the Santa Fun Run. This fancy dress race saw Years 7, 8 and 9 racing around the grounds for charity, earning an outstanding £5298.37.

This money went to Herts Young Homeless (HYH), a charity that supports young people and families across the county who are homeless or at the risk of being homeless.
