Stagecoach Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead student Elliot, 11, has been a member of the EastEnders cast since 2018, but nothing could have prepared this young actor for his full circle moment.
Elliot, who has been a student at Stagecoach for six years, never dreamt he’d get to act alongside his own acting teacher, especially as that teacher was playing his uncle! As a seasoned cast member, Elliot was overjoyed to see his teacher’s name on the call sheet and Stephen was proud as punch of his young student:
Stephen said: “Well, given Elliot comes to my place of work each week at Stagecoach, I thought it was about time I drop in on his! A few people on set know of our Stagecoach connection and kept telling me what a joy Elliot is to work with. A very successful ‘Bring Your Teacher to Work Day!’ I’d say!”
With previous TV and film experience, Stephen has also played lead roles in multi-award-winning West End musicals, including School of Rock, Back to the Future and Waitress.
Stagecoach Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead principal Tara Dixon commented: “It’s always special seeing one of our students on screen, but there’s something extra special about them being on screen alongside their drama teacher! EastEnders is such a well-loved show, and both Elliot and Stephen really rose to the occasion, and we couldn’t be prouder of them both.”
