A man has appeared at St Albans Crown Court accused of two sexual assaults and three kidnaps that happened in Harpenden two decades ago.
Alec Housden, 59, of Kingsbury Gardens, Dunstable, was arrested at his home on Wednesday, March 22.
Today (Monday, April 24), Housden denied kidnapping and indecently assaulting a 16-year-old girl in Piggottshill Lane, Harpenden, on April 7, 2002.
In addition, he pleaded not guilty to kidnapping and indecently assaulting a 17-year-old girl at the same location on June 19, 2002.
He further denied kidnapping a third complainant in the same area on March 17, 2004.
Judge Francis Sheridan remanded Housden in custody set the date for a six-day trial on September 4.
