ALL FOR OLLIE: Berkhamsted Football Club holding race night and auction for local boy’s treatment

Berkhamsted FC are hosting a special event and auction this July to raise funds for a local boy battling cancer.

Ollie Sweeney, four, was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma in January 2018 and has bravely fought the disease since then.

His family are currently trying to raise £500,000 for Ollie’s cancer treatments, planned in Barcelona and New York.

They have raised nearly £300,000 so far, and the hope is that Ollie’s Race Night at Berkhamsted FC on Saturday, July 24 will help get them closer to their target.

Horse races will be shown on cine films and there will be an auction and raffle.

Benny Mitchell, Berkhamsted FC vice-chairman, said: “It’s about Ollie, his incredible fight for life and our ongoing support for this little brave man and his unbelievable family.

“You are all welcome to come along and support the Sweenys to raise money to give little Ollie a life. Any type of donation anyone can offer, be it financial or an auction prize, would be gratefully appreciated.”
