No Rest For the Spacemen, a band made up of four friends from Abbots and Kings Langley, are releasing their third single.
MASH will debut on Friday, November 22 and is a high energy, catchy riff indie rock song. Originally a parody of heavier music, it has become a favourite among fans at the gigs.
Made up of Charlie Parker on vocals and rhythm guitar, Dan Beling on Lead Guitar, Daniel Wood on the drums and bassist Alex Brunt, the group are inspired by artists and bands like Pulp, Declan McKenna and David Bowie.
Having performed in clubs around the area, the group recently held a fundraiser at The Old Palace for mental health charity Hector’s House and raised around £460.
Lead singer Charlie said: “It was an emotional evening. The charity got up and did speeches and it was nice to see music bringing people together, especially in the local community.”
The group also raised around £250 for St Francis Hospice earlier in the year.
Having landed singles Goodbye Jane and Somebody Like You, the band have accumulated over 1,200 monthly listeners.
It really is No Rest For The Spacemen, as they headlined their first show at the Fiddler’s Elbow in Camden on Friday, October 25.
Speaking about their upcoming single, Charlie shared: “We are all really proud of this song, it’s really exciting. It’s different and way less serious than our others.
“Previously there has been a message behind the songs, but this one is a high energy fun indie rock song. I hope this song portrays energy.”
Over the next year, the group are planning on working towards their first EP and are hoping to be playing in festivals in the summer.
