The water company which serves Abbots Langley has apologised for any inconvenience caused by a leak on a water main on Tibbs Hill Road in Abbots Langley.
During initial repairs, a team from Affinity Water discovered a further complication which requires a specialist team to stop water flowing through the damaged section before technicians can carry out repairs.
A spokesman said: “This will ensure we can maintain supplies to customers in the area whilst this work is carried out.”
“To ensure the safety of commuters and our technicians working to repair the pipe, Tibbs Hill Road is currently closed and a diversion route is in place”
“We would like to thank our customers for their patience during this time.”
The work could take up to two weeks to complete and there are concerns about the effect on the area after College Road closes next week for resurfacing.
