Every artist has their own way of responding to the world and different ‘ways of seeing’, which has inspired a new exhibition at the Heath Robinson Museum in Pinner.
In his book Ways of Seeing, published in 1972, John Berger explores how art is shaped by cultural, historical, and social context.
Motivated by his ideas, The Ways of Seeing: Narrative, Humour, and Nostalgia exhibition explores these three themes through the work of Heath Robinson and 15 contemporary artists.
Positioning his work with contemporary pieces, the exhibition draws connections between past and present.
Featured in the exhibition are paintings, sculptures, video, soundscapes, and augmented reality from a range of artists such as Sir Peter Blake CBE, Chila Burman MBE and Glen Baxter.
The exhibition will be held from Saturday, May 17, to Saturday, July 19.
