Rainbows from Radlett and Shenley took part in their first ever Rainbow sleepover last month, earning three special Girlguiding badges.
22 Rainbows and leaders took part in the event, reading stories, hunting for puzzles in the woods, watching shadow puppets and visiting the library where staff explained the special activities, events, and free book lending service that everyone has access to.
Nicola Day, Girlguiding Leader said: “The girls spent ages reading each other stories. Emilia liked making the peg portraits best. Niamh’s favourites were dinner and breakfast and Amber and Olivia liked everything! The girls worked together to make sure all the washing up was done and the holiday home was tidy and hoovered.”
At the sleepover,Radlett Rainbows, aged four to seven, earned their storyteller badge, Hertfordshire book challenge badge and nights away badge and learned skills for their future.
More sleepovers and holidays are being planned by the Leaders in Girlguiding Radlett for the summer term for all sections, on top of weekly meetings and other special events.
