Tudors slip to away defeat

Published on: 6th August 2019   |   By: Tim Green   |   Category: Hemel Hempstead Town F.C

After a spectacular start to their league campaign with a 4-1 hammering of Hungerford Town at the weekend, Hemel Hempstead Town travelled to Surrey for their first away game against Dorking Wanderers.

But the away side were made to pay for a slow start when Jason Prior latched onto a loose ball in the box to put the home side 1-0 up.

Worse was to follow before half time when Sammy Moore’s men were reduced to ten men after Luke Howells was shown a red card.

When Tudors boss replaced Dikenson and Howells at half time with Kpohomouh and Midson at half time, it looked like an inspired substitution when Midson found Liam Nash whose deflected shot drew the Tudors level.

Although Dorking restored a two-goal cushion less than 15 mins later, Hemel continued to create chances with a powerful header from Connor Essam flashing just wide after 70 minutes.  Tudors keeper Sam Beasant also had to be alert to prevent Dorking from extending their lead

Hemel are away again on Saturday when they take on Hampton and Richmond Borough
