A trail run is always fun

Published on: 15th January 2019   |   By: Jake Levison   |   Category: Uncategorized

The eighth Chorley-Rootz Trailrun is taking place in Chorleywood next month.

In partnership with Rootz Café Chorleywood, Run 4 Cancer ambassador Geordie Klein has set up the run, which is open to anyone, on Sunday, February 10.

The run will begin at the café, located at 10 Main Parade, Chorleywood West, at 9.10am, allowing anyone arriving by train from London at 9.00 to participate.

The trailrun will last around one and a half hours and go through woods and valleys around Chorleywood, and Geordie has also warned of some ‘hard or soft’ mud and hills along the way.

Rootz provides reusable water bottles and, when the run ends at 10:40am, runners will be treated to tea, breakfast and a special Rootz homemade granola bar.

Geordie said: “I am an ambassador for Run 4 Cancer. My idea is to keep raising donations for Run 4 Cancer by organising events like this trailrun where people can enjoy the ‘outdoor’. This is also the central theme for Run 4 Cancer. So any pound is more than welcome (most runners donate £5), but no worries at all if you do not feel comfortable donating for this charity. (It’s) most important to enjoy a nice trail run with fellow runners.”

The run was initially due to take place on January 20, before Geordie, who took part in the challenging PirineosFit Jaco Trailweek 2017, injured his right knee last month.
