Published on: 19th December 2018   |   By: Jason Allen   |   Category: Uncategorized

Home-Start Watford and Three Rivers are bringing 2018 to close by spreading festive cheer to hundreds of children in the local community by delivering Christmas hampers.

Local companies and organisations such as TKMaxx, Joan of Arc School, Man-a-Live, VWV and Job Centre Plus have donated an incredible amount of fantastic toys and Christmas goodies that the Home-Start team have organised into hampers.

With the help of their volunteers these hampers will all be delivered to families in need, just in time for Christmas. Home-Start’s aim, with the support of other professionals, is to ensure that every child has something to enjoy on Christmas day.

Emma Power, scheme manager, said: “For many families Christmas is an incredibly stressful time. With support from local people we can really make a difference on Christmas day. We are very thankful to everyone who has donated and volunteers who have helped deliver’.

Home-Start are a leading family support charity supporting over two hundred local families every year through Home-Visiting and their popular family groups in Watford and South Oxhey.

One mum on receipt of her hamper said with tears in her eyes: “I cannot believe peoples kindness, things have been so tough, you have resolved Christmas for me”.

Home-Start are currently finalists in the Watford Bid awards. Please vote for them at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/BIDawards2019
