A nine-year-old tennis superstar from Abbots Langley continues to impress as she looks ahead to more success in 2025.
Amelie Austin, who started playing tennis when she was just four years old, is ranked in the top 16 girls in Great Britain.
When she is not competing, Amelie is dedicated to training and practices regularly at the Manor Park courts, focusing on four key aspects of her game: physical, mental, tactical, and technical.
She now trains every day, with each session tailored to enhance one of these attributes.
Recently, Amelie participated in a national camp at Nottingham Tennis Centre.
In 2025, she aims to climb the national rankings and hopes to represent her county in team events and broaden her competitive experience.
Her long-term goal is to reach the top tiers of junior tennis in the UK and, one day, compete internationally.
To achieve that dream, her mum, Rachel Austin, told ABBOTSnews they are looking for sponsorship.
She said: “Sponsorship would make a tremendous difference. Having financial support would allow Amelie to access more advanced training opportunities and compete in a wider range of events without the barrier of rising expenses.
“This backing would enable her to fully focus on her development and aspirations.”
Speaking of her daughter’s determination and skill, Rachel added: “We couldn’t be prouder of Amelie and the dedication she demonstrates every day. Her passion for tennis continues to grow, and she constantly pushes herself to improve.
“It’s truly inspiring to witness her commitment, and we take great joy in watching her develop both as a player and as an individual.”
Amelie has recently gained a local sponsor, Signature Estates. Anyone interested in supporting her journey should email r.osullivan@hotmail.co.uk
