The work of an artist who has received widespread acclaim despite being paralysed from shoulders down is set to go on display at the Grove Hotel in Watford this weekend.
The exhibition Hand to Mouth III is set to come to the venue’s Ivory Suite, depicting the artistry of Henry Fraser, a 30-year-old painter who has a remarkable story.
Henry’s entire body from his shoulders down is completely paralysed. A former rugby academy hopeful, a freak accident after diving into the sea in Portugal in 2009.
Despite this severe setback however, Henry is now a well-revered artist, using his mouth to paint beautiful pictures of landscapes and animals.
In a quote on his unexpected path in life, Henry said: “I might not be able to use my hands to create my art, but sometimes you have to adapt to life’s challenges.”
The exhibition will run from Saturday, September 3 to Sunday, September 4, with being open on both days from 10.30am to 6.30pm. Entry is free, with no tickets needed.
