WASTE WORRIES: Fly-tipping on car park access road in Abbots Langley sparks concerns among residents

Published on: 8th November 2025   |   By: Naomi Greenaway   |   Category: Uncategorized

Residents in Abbots Langley have voiced their concerns over the repeated dumping of domestic rubbish on the grass verge along the access road to the Causeway car park in Abbots Langley.

According to residents, the waste has become an ongoing problem for a long time, drawing attention to issues of anti-social behaviour and community upkeep.

ABBOTSnews contacted Three Rivers District Council (TRDC) to request comment as to the cause of the rubbish however they told ABBOTSnews that they contacted Thrive Homes regarding the issues as according to TRDC, the fly-tipped waste is located on land owned by Thrive, limiting the council’s ability to intervene.

Residents are now considering a range of solutions, from hiring a potential skip to reporting the dumping through official channels and are seeking clearer guidance on how to handle such incidents in the future.

Local discussions on Facebook have also focused on the importance of maintaining public spaces and ensuring shared areas remain safe and clean.

One resident shared that “more cameras around the village” could potentially prevent further dumping and protect the appearance and safety of the village.

Thrive Homes has been contacted for comment.
